INDEPENDENT PRE-CONSTRUCTION GUIDANCE

Clarity
before
commitment.

Before hiring an architect, contractor or designer, understand what you're building, what it may cost, who you'll need and how best to proceed.

For homeowners considering a major renovation, addition or new home.

KNOW what you're getting into,

BEFORE
YOU START.

A SMARTER PLACE TO START

Good projects begin with better decisions.

Homeowner expectations and budget realities don't always align. Experienced guidance at the beginning can help clarify scope, budget, team and direction before you commit to design or construction.

WHY BEFORE YOU BUILD

35 years of experience, brought to the beginning.

I spent my career on both sides of the building process. I know how projects are imagined, designed, priced, permitted and built. My role is to bring my accumulated experience to the beginning, when it can do the most good.

SELECTED WORK

Experience you can see.

Residential project
01

Start with the big picture.

The homeowners wanted a new primary suite with room for both a luxurious soaking tub and a generous shower. Planning those priorities early allowed the addition to accommodate both beautifully, without compromise.

Kitchen project
02

Know where the money matters.

The homeowners wanted a kitchen designed for entertaining, with plenty of uninterrupted counter space for family and guests. By addressing that goal early, the center island could be designed without appliances, creating a generous, flexible gathering space.

Outdoor residential project
03

See the whole property.

Early conversations about space and character led to a custom-truss cathedral ceiling that became a defining feature of the home. The added height and volume make this smaller new home feel remarkably spacious.

Residential design project
04

Make important decisions early.

Building a 3,000-square-foot home on a tight, complicated site raised important questions before construction began. Working through those issues early helped shape a home that takes full advantage of a challenging property.
